Nanshan District is boosting holiday consumption with a new 60 million yuan (US$8.32 million) car purchase subsidy program. Launched during the May Day holiday, this marks the district's second round of the car purchase initiative for 2025.
The program, running from May 1 to July 31 (or until funds are depleted), connects over 70 auto brands, including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW, offering residents a range of purchase discounts and insurance subsidies.
Individuals buying new cars from participating Nanshan dealerships and completing registration with the traffic police bureau can apply for the subsidy. The program is structured in three tiers based on the purchase invoice amount (including tax):
Tier 1: Cars priced between 200,000 yuan (excluding) and 300,000 yuan (including) qualify for a 3,000 yuan subsidy.
Tier 2: Cars priced between 300,000 yuan (excluding) and 400,000 yuan (including) qualify for a 4,000 yuan subsidy.
Tier 3: Cars priced above 400,000 yuan (excluding) qualify for a 5,000 yuan subsidy.
The initiative aims to stimulate local spending and support the automotive industry. The subsidies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, encouraging residents to take advantage of the program while funds last.
