The Shenzhen Municipal Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau, in collaboration with the municipal planning and natural resources bureau, have unveiled the “Shenzhen Leisure Cycling Path Special Plan (2025-2035)”.

The plan, announced on April 7, aims to transform Shenzhen into a cycling paradise, with Nanshan District set to become a flagship area for this initiative.

Nanshan will leverage its unique geographical and cultural attributes to create a comprehensive cycling network. The plan envisages cycling routes that not only connect to the doorstep of residents but also lead to the mountains and seas, offering a fun and engaging way to explore the city.

Key highlights include:

Coastal cycling trails: Leveraging the natural beauty of Qianhai Bay, Mawan, Taizi Bay, and Shenzhen Bay, the district will develop a demonstration section of coastal cycling trails, providing residents and visitors with a scenic route along the coastline.

Western mountain-sea cycling loops: By connecting the Dasha River Ecological Corridor, the cycling path around Changlingpi Reservoir, and the ecological corridor around Xili Lake, the district will create picturesque cycling loops that encompasses mountain, river, and lake landscapes.

Central mountain-sea cycling loop: In collaboration with Futian District, Nanshan will develop an important section of this loop, utilizing routes such as the OCT Wetland Park, central green axis of the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, Shenzhen Bay Park, and the cycling section connecting Tanglang Mountain and OCT Wetland Park.

Nanshan center cycling loop: This loop will be created by connecting the Pingnan Railway Park, Taoyuan Road-Shennan Boulevard, and the coastal cycling trails.
