In a bid to foster a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, Huang Xiangyue, Party chief of the CPC Nanshan District Committee, led a delegation to explore the crowdfunding giant Kickstarter’s operations at industrial park Nanshan I Valley on April 2.

The visit underscored Nanshan’s commitment to nurturing high-quality projects at the intersection of AI and high-end technologies, and highlighted the district’s ambition to become a global hub for tech innovation.

During the visit, Huang emphasized the district’s goal to create an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive, innovate, and live comfortably. He noted the emergence of numerous cutting-edge projects in Nanshan and expressed optimism about the district’s potential to become a leading innovation center.

Kickstarter, renowned as the world’s largest crowdfunding platform directed toward helping creative projects get off the ground, has played a pivotal role in catapulting Shenzhen companies and entrepreneurs onto the global stage.

Henri Pang, chief strategy representative of Kickstarter China, highlighted the platform’s instrumental role in enabling Nanshan-based startup teams to launch new products and secure initial revenues. He expressed Kickstarter’s eagerness to further leverage its global network to attract tech enterprises and creative talent, thereby facilitating the international expansion of Nanshan’s quality and high-end tech products.

The event also featured an on-site exchange meeting for entrepreneurs. The session provided a firsthand experience of innovative products such as smart jewelry, AI recording devices, laser projectors, and AI sports camera glasses. A number of entrepreneurs shared their journeys of innovation and discussed key themes such as disruptive innovation, global expansion, and talent competitiveness.

Participants unanimously agreed that Nanshan, with its robust supply chain and sound innovation environment, is an ideal location for companies looking to make a global impact. The district’s unique appeal lies in its ability to attract and retain makers, driven by a deep understanding of user needs, a spirit of perseverance, and a commitment to technological refinement and innovation.

Huang highlighted that the whole district is like a “super incubator” for innovation and entrepreneurship. He encouraged entrepreneurs to pursue original and disruptive technological innovation, urging them to transform innovative ideas into high-value products and drive manufacturing upgrades.
