On the afternoon of Dec. 27, the Nanshan District Cruise Promotion Month was officially launched at the Shenzhen International Cruise Homeport, ushering in a month-long celebration of the maritime industry's vibrant culture and tourism. The event series is set to offer an array of cruise-themed activities and special events throughout January 2025.

The cruise industry has emerged as a new calling card for the marine economy in Nanshan District. The Shenzhen International Cruise Homeport stands as the largest integrated "sea, land, air, and rail" hub in China. Since its inception in 2016, it has become a magnet for major international cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International and MSC Cruises. As of the end of 2024, the cruise homeport had received over 33.08 million tourists, including over 1.13 million cruise passengers.

The launch ceremony was a testament to the port's commitment to enhancing the travel experience within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Shenzhen International Cruise Homeport unveiled enticing offers for bay area cruises and high-speed passenger services, with fares starting as low as 55 yuan (US$7.53), providing seamless connectivity across the region.

To celebrate the New Year, the port has also introduced a variety of marine-themed educational products, delving into topics such as marine life, space exploration, ecological protection, and technological innovation.

The Cruise Promotion Month features six major themed activities that encapsulate the essence of cruise living. These activities integrate elements of food, accommodation, tourism, entertainment, education, and shopping, exploring the vast potential of "cruise+" and presenting this lifestyle to the public and tourists alike.

The highly anticipated luxury cruise ship "China Merchants Aden" is scheduled to set sail in January 2025. The cruise ship is designed with ocean and starry sky motifs, offering a blend of sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment.
