The Shenzhen (Nanshan) Gaming Innovation and Development Center was officially unveiled at the Kexing Science Park in Nanshan District on Dec. 18.

During the unveiling ceremony, the first batch of cooperative institutions signed an on-site contract with the center, marking a significant step forward in the development of the gaming industry in the district.

The center, a comprehensive service platform for the gaming industry, is designed to provide diversified services and professional support to game-related enterprises in the city, serving as a bridge to enhance efficient interaction between the government and enterprises. Guided by promoting high-quality gaming development and technological innovation, the center is committed to integrating innovative elements of "government, industry, academia, research, application, and integration". It will also pilot the construction of policy consultation platforms, industry service platforms, industry research platforms, and innovation support platforms in stages.

Wang Yuanhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanshan District Committee and head of the district's publicity department, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He revealed that Nanshan District is home to about 2,500 gaming-related enterprises, which generated a revenue of over 150 billion yuan (US$20.55 billion) in 2023.

Nanshan aims to drive the more effective and in-depth integration and development of culture and technology in the gaming industry by improving industrial policies, optimizing the industrial environment, and enhancing industrial services. This initiative is expected to foster the formation of rich industrial forms and application scenarios such as "gaming+film and television", "gaming+tourism", "gaming+sports", and "gaming+hardware equipment". Ultimately, it will promote the continuous optimization and upgrading of the gaming industry and build a healthy, orderly, and sustainable gaming industry ecosystem.
