On Oct. 25, Huang Xiangyue, Party chief of Nanshan District, led a delegation to visit Pengcheng Laboratory and jointly inaugurated for the Party committee and neighborhood committee of Shibilong Community with Gao Wen, a member the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Pengcheng Laboratory.

Shibilong Community, situated in Xili Subdistrict, is the first community in Nanshan to be officially inaugurated following the optimization and establishment of 15 new communities.

Covering an area of approximately 3.6 square kilometers, the community primarily serves Pengcheng Laboratory, Niucheng Village, Nangang First Industrial Park, and Lihe Industrial Zone, catering to a population of over 12,000.

The settlement of Pengcheng Laboratory has propelled the Shibilong area into a phase of high-quality development, necessitating advanced grassroots governance. In response, Nanshan has proactively established a Party and mass service center in the Shibilong park.

The Shibilong Community Party and Mass Service Center encompasses various facilities. It aims to explore new community service models, cater to the needs of researchers and residents, and support the construction of major platforms like Pengcheng Laboratory.

During the visit, Huang learned about the planning and construction of the Shibilong park, and had a discussion with Gao focusing on service support for the Pengcheng Laboratory.

Huang emphasized the role of technological innovation in driving high-quality development and effort to accelerate the construction of a regional laboratory system with Pengcheng Laboratory at its core.

Huang expressed hope for leveraging the laboratory’s role as a national-level strategic science and technology platform and for continued breakthroughs in core technology research and development. He also pledged Nanshan’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship.

Gao expressed gratitude for Nanshan’s support and highlighted the significant improvement in Pengcheng Laboratory’s research conditions following the opening of Shibilong park, which he believes is crucial for the laboratory’s sustainable and high-quality development.
